Lower League Round-Up: Week of June 12

In this week’s local lower league round-up, we take a look back at the week of June 12 and preview the upcoming week, including the CASA Kelly Cup final taking place at Subaru Park on Saturday:

Eastern Premier Soccer League (EPSL)

  • The Final Four in the Eastern Premier Soccer League will take place this weekend, June 24 and 25 in Leesburg Virginia to determine the EPSL champion. Oaklyn United FC will represent the Delaware River Conference by virtue of their conference playoff win. Fall River FC, NY Pancyprian Freedoms and defending EPSL champion, Northern Virginia FC round out the final four.
    • Oaklyn will face Fall River FC on Saturday 6/24
    • All games can be streamed live on YouTube on the New Logical channel.

United Premier Soccer League (UPSL)

  • Due to their top of the table regular season finish, Philadelphia Lone Star FC received a first round bye and are now in the semi-finals of the UPSL Northeast-American Conference playoffs. The winner of the Northeast-American conference playoff will advance in the overall UPSL playoffs to crown the UPSL champion.
    • Lone Star face Union SC on Saturday 6/24 at 5:30 p.m. at John Bartram HS Field.

National Premier Soccer League (NPSL)

  • Tuesday 6/13 – PA Classics 1-2 West Chester United
  • Wednesday 6/14 – Torch FC 0-5 Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals
  • Wednesday 6/14 – FC Motown 8-2 Philadelphia Union Development Squad
  • Saturday  6/17 – Atlantic City FC 3-2 First State FC
  • Sunday 6/18 – Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals 2-0 Torch FC

In other local soccer news…

CASA Soccer League is wrapping up their spring season with the Kelly Cup Final at Subaru Park, home of the Philadelphia Union on Saturday 6/24. The game will be played after Union host Inter Miami.

Here is where things stand in the 2023 Kelly Cup bracket. Division winners from CASA’s 7 divisions advance to a knockout playoff to face the top 5 in the CASA Primera division. The division that a team won is listed in parenthesis:

Division winners play in the Kelly Cup and also earn promotion. Promotion playoffs also take place in each division to determine a second team to be promoted as well. Below are the promotion playoff winners for the spring season:

  • Segunda – Yardy FC
  • Tercera – Lower Bucks Legacy
  • Cuarto – Philly Skyliners
  • Quinto – Industry FC
  • Sexto – Still Processing FC
  • Septima – Sanko United FC

-The Palangi League Cup, which is the CASA equivalent to the FA Cup or US Open Cup, will conclude on Wednesday 6/21 with Kensington SC taking on Real in the final. The game will be played at Temple U at 8 p.m.

-In the CASA Select Division, Vidas Elite finished top of the table and Gremio Philadelphia won the playoff for the second promotion place. Both will be offered promotion to EPSL next season.

Lastly..

The United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) Region 1 finals took place over the weekend at Ukrainian American Sport Center. Below are the results with winners advancing to the national finals to face off against the winners from regions 2, 3 and 4:

  • Men Under-23 Championship: West Chester United
  • Women’s Championship: Rochester Lazers
  • The Gerhard Mengel Cup (Men Over-30 Championship): NY Greek Americans
  • Men Over-40 Championship: Christos FC
  • Men Over-50 Championship: Philly Bucks
  • The Werner Fricker Cup (Open Championship): Lansdowne Yonkers FC
  • The National Amateur Cup: Newtown Pride FC
