Philadelphia Lone Star FC completed a United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) double by winning the Northeast-American Conference regular season title as well as the playoff title. They advance to the UPSL national playoffs to the round of 32.

Lone Star finished the regular season top of the table with an undefeated record of 9-2-0 (W-D-L) to earn them a first-round bye in the UPSL Northeast-American Conference playoffs.

In the playoff semi-finals, Lone Star defeated Union SC 4-1 to advance to the title game. A brace from captain Bill Walleekendeh as well as goals from Mamadou Diarra and Patrick Singbah helped them earn the win.

In the Northeast-American Conference playoff final, Lone Star won the title in dominating fashion with a 5-0 victory over NY Braveheart SC.

With the win, Lone Star will advance to the UPSL national playoff tournament and enter in the round of 32. A trip to next year’s US Open Cup will be on the line as the winner of UPSL will receive an automatic berth to the nation’s oldest soccer tournament.

For Lone Star, the national playoffs begin in Buffalo on Saturday, 7/8 where they will face FCY New York. If they win they will play in the round of 16 on Sunday, 7/9 and face the winner of Bridge Sports Club vs Boston Street FC.

Walleekendeh leads the team in goals this year with 14 so far through the regular season and playoffs.
