The Philadelphia Union have loaned midfielder Richard Odad out to Danish side AaB Fodbold, AaB announced Tuesday.

The Union’s agreement with AaB will last the remainder of AaB’s season, which runs until March 2024, and includes an option to buy. AaB is currently top of the Danish 1. Division, the second division in the country.

Odada joined the Union in 2021, but never played first-team minutes. He was instead relegated to playing for the team’s MLS Next Pro side, recording eight appearances for Union II, his last in May in a 2-1 win over New York Red Bull II. Odada also recorded three starts for the Kenyan national team in 2023 after making his senior international debut in 2021.

Before coming to the Union, Odada spent time bouncing around Serbia, playing with Red Star Belgrade before he joined the Union for a reported fee of $300,000.

Odada will wear the No. 16 with AaB after donning No. 21 in Philadelphia.
