An early goal from Raychel Speicher and a clean sheet from Manheim, Pa. native Mia Reed led the Blue Hens to a win in Kelly Lawrence’s first game as head coach.

Speicher scored in the 8th minute off assists from Lea Panagiotidis and Lower Gwynned, Pa. native Lauren Elwell and Reed made a pair of saves to preserve the 1-0 win over Syracuse.

Lawrence, a former Penn State and Boston College assistant, is the first coach in program history to win their first game as head coach.

The win is also a program first over an opponent from a power five school.
