Reading, Pa. native and former Penn Fusion and Baldwin School standout Gia Vicari is embarking on a professional soccer career in Denmark.

Vicari signed a professional deal recently with Odense Boldklub Q of the top flight Kvinde-DM Liga.

“I am looking forward to starting in OB Q,” Vicari said in a release on the team’s website. “It is a club with big ambitions like me and it suits me very well. I look forward to being part of a historic club and I look forward to achieving the goals we have set together. I already have a really good impression of the city, the club, and the people in the club, and I am sure that this will be a good experience.”

Vicari spent a graduate year at Rutgers after four seasons at Georgetown. She scored 27 goals and added 19 assists over her college career. She played at FC Revolution and Penn Fusion in her youth club career.

Vicari’s contract runs through the summer of 2025. She joins fellow Pennsylvania native Ally Clark at the team.

Odense is currently in first place through 14 matches. The season resumes in mid-March.
