Dylan Steinberg scored the lone goal of the game off a short corner to lead Lower Merion to a 1-0 win over Garnet Valley and a spot in Saturday’s PIAA District 1 Class 4A girls final against Central Bucks East.

The Aces, an 8 seed, avenged a 2-1 loss to the fourth-seeded Garnet Valley back in September and have yet to concede a goal in the postseason.

They’ll face a CB East team on Saturday that hasn’t struggled to find the back of the net with 8 goals through three playoff games, including three in their 3-1 win over Downingtown West on Tuesday night.

Keira Sleicher, Mia Forney and Jessie Bernabe had the goals for the No. 2 seed East, which last made the district final in 2022 and last won it in 2015.

Saturday’s district final will be played at Spring-Ford High School with kickoff slated for 3 p.m.

Both teams have already qualified for the state tournament and will be joined by their semifinal opponents along with top seed Conestoga and No. 3 seed Pennridge, which both won playback games on Tuesday. Matches will be played Friday for placement in the state tournament.
