Conestoga will be eyeing revenge on Saturday in the Class 4A District 1 final, not only for their only loss of the season but also for the 2016 team that lost the District 1 final the last time Saturday’s opponent – West Chester Henderson – was in it.

The top-seeded Pioneers (17-1-1) advanced to the District 1 final for the fourth straight year with a late goal to beat Central Bucks South in a rematch of the 2023 state final they won on an overtime free kick goal.

Conestoga won the district final in 2023, 2021, 2017 and 2011 en route to state championships but lost the 2016 district final to Henderson.

Henderson set up the rematch of a game they won 2-1 at Conestoga on October 5 by taking care of Great Valley 4-0 to improve to 21-0 on the season.

Both teams and their semifinal opponents have qualified for the state tournament. They will be joined by Phoenixville and Souderton, which both won playback games on Tuesday. Three matches will be played on Friday to determine placement in the state tournament.

Saturday’s District 1 final at Spring-Ford is slated for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
