Rowan, Messiah put both teams into NCAA Tournament

Rowan and Messiah will be well represented in the NCAA Division III soccer tournaments that kick off this weekend at campus sites.

Messiah women will host the opening two rounds, taking on Gordon College to open tournament play on Saturday at 11 a.m. Misericordia and Scranton women will also host the first two rounds.

Rowan women earned an at-large bid after losing in the NJAC semifinal to Montclair State. Rowan men won the NJAC tournament and will travel to Middlebury to take on Vassar on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rowan women travel to William Smith in Geneva, N.Y. to take on Tufts at 1:30 p.m.

Penn State Harriburg women – playing William Smith at 11 a.m. Saturday – rounds out the list of five area teams in the women’s bracket.

Neumann men will visit Amherst for a game at 11 a.m. Saturday, Messiah plays Cortland at 1:30 p.m. at Williams College, Muhlenberg and Stevens square off at 1:30 p.m. at Amherst, Franklin and Marshall, an at-large bid, play West Conn at Connecticut College at 1:30 p.m. and Dickinson, an at-large bid, plays St. Mary’s at 1 p.m. at Lynchburg.
