Philadelphia Union draw Indy Eleven for fourth round of U.S. Open Cup

Indy Eleven will be visiting Subaru Park in early May for the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup.
The Philadelphia Union are back in the oldest competition in American soccer for the first time since 2023 and will be hosting a game for the first time since the 2018 semifinal they won against Chicago Fire.
Philadelphia Union Academy grad and former Bethlehem Steel FC defender Ben Ofeimu are among the notable names on Indy Eleven’s roster. The USL Championship side had a memorable run to the competition’s semifinals last year before falling to Sporting Kansas City 2-0. They beat Miami FC 1-0 on a 123rd minute goal from Hayden White to advance.
Indy Eleven will be the first lower division side the Union have played in a competitive game since they played Richmond Kickers in the first round of the 2018 competition. They played Harrisburg City Islanders in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2017, Rochester Rhinos in 2012 and 2015, New York Cosmos in 2014 and Ocean City Nor’easters in 2013, all at home.
The U.S. Open Cup game will be part of a heavy month of May for the Union that includes 7 league games and the potential for another Open Cup game if they advance to the Round of 16. The Union visit CF Montreal on May 3 and host Columbus Crew a week later. May road trips also include visits to Atlanta United, Toronto FC and FC Dallas.
