Wrexham Returning to Subaru Park This Summer
Wrexham A.F.C. will return to Subaru Park this summer as part of the club’s 2026 United States tour.
The Red Dragons, owned by actors Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, will face Sunderland A.F.C. on Sunday, August 2 at Subaru Park. The match will serve as the final stop of Wrexham’s three-game summer tour across the United States.
Since McElhenney and Reynolds purchased the club in 2020, Wrexham has rapidly climbed the English football pyramid. The club achieved a historic run of three consecutive promotions. Their rise began in 2023 when they moved from the National League to League Two. The following season they earned promotion to League One, and the club now competes in the Championship.
This weekend, Wrexham will host Chelsea F.C. in Wales in the fifth round of the FA Cup. The matchup presents a major opportunity for the club to test itself against one of the giants of the Premier League.
The club has also gained global attention in recent years through the FX documentary series Welcome to Wrexham, which chronicles McElhenney and Reynolds’ takeover of the historic Welsh side.
