Bradley Carnell Meets the Press
Carnell struck an optimistic tone in his weekly press conference on Thursday.
“We’re in a unique situation where I don’t think anyone’s ever experienced this type of a streak in their careers,” Carnell said. “Everyone’s trying to touch at every straw and turn every stone to try and find the solutions and I think it’s been a good collective effort this week.”
No Excuse Not to Win
While tomorrow’s CF Montreal game looks like a golden opportunity for the Philadelphia Union to finally get points, CF Montreal is looking at their return to Saputo Stadium as a must-win.
“We don’t have any excuse not to win this game,” goalkeeper Thomas Gillier was quoted saying. “We can talk about expected goals, we can talk about whatever you want, but games are won with goals. We have to stop talking now and show it on the pitch.”

Philadelphia Union U-16 Midfielder Named to Best XI
Philadelphia Union U-16 midfielder Abdoulaye Diop was named to the Best XI for the recent Generation adidas Cup.
Travis Clark wrote of Diop’s performance during the tournament: “Diop’s all-action approach met the moment for Philadelphia, as the box-to-box midfielder was in the mix at both ends of the pitch.”
Diop, a Washington D.C. native, was also recently called up to an upoming U.S. U-16 Boys’ National Team camp along with Union teammates Abram Judy and Landon Mulvenna.
