After dropping their opening match of the tournament on Friday, the United States U20 team will look to get their U20 World Cup campaign back on track against Nigeria at 2:30 p.m. today.

Philadelphia Union defender Mark McKenzie was a surprise omission from the starting lineup for the Americans in their 2-1 loss to Ukraine on Friday after head coach Tab Ramos had named him captain. The Union were represented in the game when left back Matt Real came off the bench in the second half to replace Chris Gloster. McKenzie and Philadelphia native CJ dos Santos, a former Philadelphia Union Academy goalkeeper who is on the books with Benfica in Portugal, were unused subs in the match.

Today will mark the second meeting between the U.S. and Nigeria in the competition. The Flying Eagles defeated the Americans 2-1 in extra time during the semifinals of the 1989 FIFA World Youth Championship in Saudi Arabia.

Nigeria opened their World Cup campaign with a 4-0 win over Qatar on Friday.

The top two teams in each of the six group and the top four third place finishers will advance to the Round of 16.
