Union Academy teams sweep rivals Continental FC Delco

The Union continued to hold the upper hand in the local derby matches over the weekend

Tiger Graham scored four times to lead the Philadelphia Union Academy U18 team to its most lopsided victory of the season against local rivals Continental FC Delco on Sunday.

Graham, who delayed his commitment to Dartmouth for a year, opened the scoring in the seventh minute and completed the hat trick just after halftime before adding his fourth in the 88th minute.

Josue Monge scored the eventual game winner in the 9th minute and Dawson McCartney added a goal in the 30th minute for the Union.

Graham’s goals give him five for the year and 25 for his career with the U16 and U18 teams.

Alexander Hajj picked up the lone goal for the visitors in the 16th minute, his second of the season and the first allowed by Union goalkeeper Kristopher Shakes in his three starts for the U18 team.

U16s

The Union U16s twice overcame two-goal deficits and scored four unanswered goals in the second half to top Continental FC 5-3 on Sunday.

Daniel Bloyou led the way with a hat trick and Carter Emack bagged the winner in the 62nd minute. Brendan Aaronson also had a goal to narrow the lead to 3-2 in the 52nd minute

Jalen Weatherspoon opened the scoring in the 11th minute and Jeremy Rafanello doubled the lead for the visitors in the 21st minute while Matthew Harridan made it 3-1 seconds after Bloyou’s first goal of the day.

Bloyou leads the U16 team with six goals on the year.

U14s

The Union U14 team rebounded from being shut out two straight weeks with a 3-0 win on Saturday at YSC Sports.

Aboubabar Camara had a hat trick inside 21 minutes and Chay Kaplan recorded his first clean sheet of the season in goal. Camara has scored five of the team’s seven goals.

U13s

The U13s road a strong second half to a 4-1 win on Saturday at YSC Sports.

Selmir Miscic had a brace while Asher Laackman opened the scoring in the 12th minute and Marco Silva scored the eventual game-winner in the 47th minute.

Tasso Malitas scored the goal for the visitors in the 69th minute.

U12s

The U12 teams continued their dominance with 4-0 and 1-0 wins over Continental FC Delco on Saturday at YSC Sports.

Julian Pittaoulis had a brace and Nelson Pierre and Francis Westfield added goals in the first game while Nicolas Rubio scored the lone goal in the second game.
