MLS labor negotiation: What does force majeure mean for CBA, players, 2021 season?
For the third time in the last year, MLS and the MLS Players Association (MLSPA) are back at the bargaining table negotiating a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). With the COVID-19 pandemic still raging, MLS is concerned that the difficult economic conditions it faced in 2020 will continue this year.

LAFC acquire Corey Baird in trade from Real Salt Lake
The 24-year-old has played three seasons in MLS, where he signed as a Homegrown ahead of the 2018 campaign. MLS Rookie of the Year in 2018, where he scored eight goals and five assists in 31 regular-season appearances, Baird has 15 goals and 13 assists in 83 regular-season appearances to date in his MLS career.

Chicago Fire sign 17-year-old Colombian star Jhon Jáder Durán
Durán is a 6’ 3” striker who was recently named by The Guardian as one of the 60 best youth footballers in the world. Because he’s under 18, Durán’s contract with Chicago won’t begin until January 2022, so he’ll spend the next year at Envigado. His contract is a three-year deal (2022, 2023, 2024) with club options for 2025 and 2026.

Gabriel Heinze’s technical staff for debut Atlanta United season announced
The newcomers recruited by Heinze are Mariano Toedtli (Assistant Coach), Nicolas Pavlovich (Assistant Coach), Pedro Mateo Leivas (Assistant Coach), Javier Vilamitjana (Fitness Coach) and Diego Navone (Video Analyst). They join returning goalkeeper coach Liam Curran on the staff.
