Two games into her college career, rookie Anna Salvucci already has a lot to celebrate.

The Glen Mills, Pa. native who starred at Episcopal Academy and for Penn Fusion Academy in high school, volleyed home a long cross from Lauren Currey (Harrisburg, Pa.) in the 98th minute to seal a 1-0 win for the Dragons over Villanova on Thursday.

The goal was the ninth shot Drexel’s attack registered on goal for the day and spoiled a standout performance for Wildcats goalkeeper Megan McClay, who finished with 8 saves.

Check out Salvucci’s goal below.

The win was the first for the Dragons this season, which evened their record at 1-1-0 after a 3-1 loss on the road to NJIT. The loss continued a slow start to 2021 for Villanova, which now has three losses in three matches and has been outscored 8-0.
