New York signs goalkeeper Carlos Miguel Coronel from Salzburg
New York Red Bulls confirmed the previously reported loan signing of goalkeeper Carlos Miguel Coronel from Austrian sister club Red Bull Salzburg. The loan will run through the entire 2021 season and features an option for New York to purchase his contract permanently if they choose.
Salzburg midfielder Youba Diarra close to New York loan move
The 22-year-old Malian midfielder is currently on the books at Red Bull Salzburg. His current deal with the Austrian club lasts through May of 2024, following a contract extension in August of 2019. At the time, he was considered “an important player for the future” by sporting director Christoph Freund.

U.S. Soccer confirms USMNT World Cup qualifying dates
During the open session of today’s U.S. Soccer meeting of its board of directors, USMNT general manager Brian McBride provided the team’s calendar for 2021 and 2022. Within that, he confirmed the dates of the 14 matchdays for the USMNT for World Cup qualifying, which begins for the team this fall.
