The Philadelphia Union U15 team has been turning heads in the Generation adidas Cup tournament’s knockout stages, with impressive wins over world-class teams like Arsenal and Real Madrid. Their latest victory against Orlando City has earned them a spot in the final, where they will face off against Austin FC.

Saturday’s semifinal game started with good attacks and solid defense from both sides. The Union had some early chances, but Orlando City kept them at bay. In the 26th minute, the Union’s Gallegos received a yellow card, and Orlando City was set up with a good spot for a free kick. However, the service hit the side of the wall and went out for a corner kick.

At halftime, the score remained level at 0. Coming out of the half the Union looked set on getting a score. As for the first 5 minutes everything was being played around Orlando City’s penalty area. The Union’s persistence paid off in the 36th minute when Hasan’s strike went between the post and the left side of the goalkeeper, giving the Union a 1-0 lead. The play leading up to the goal was great as the Union dribbled from the center to the right side of the field, sending the ball towards the left side through the feet of Sullivan to Hasan, who dribbled it into the box. That would be all the Union would need to secure the victory, as they would go on to win 1 – nil.

The Union’s focus now changes to Austin FC. As the two teams will meet in the final of the GACup U15 tournament. The final matchup will take place tomorrow, Sunday April 9th, with kickoff set at 12:00 p.m.
