Jim Curtin is staying in Philly.

The Philadelphia Union’s longest-tenured head coach was inked to a contract extension, the club announced Tuesday. Curtin’s contract now runs through 2026.

Curtin is a two-time Sigi Schmid MLS Coach of the Year recipient, and has led the Union to two Eastern Conference Finals, an MLS Cup Final, Concacaf Champions League Semifinal, and won the club’s first trophy with the Supporters’ Shield in 2020.

In 2022, Curtin led the club to numerous single-season records, including most wins (19), most goals scored (72), fewest goals conceded (26) and greatest goal differential (46). That year, the Union also put together one of MLS’ greatest defensive seasons, allowing just .76 goals per game, the second-best total in MLS history.

Curtin also holds the most total wins and matches coached of any coach in Union history. He first earned his role as head coach in 2014, and has since slowly solidified his name as one of MLS’ top managers.
