Andre Blake: A-
Another solid performance from the Union’s best player. Made a key save midway through the first half, which eventually led to the Union’s first goal. On the second Atlanta goal, he lost his footing and may have made the second save if he were in front of the goal line.

Olivier Mbaizo: A-
He was effective going forward and combining with Bedoya. Defensively, he had a strong game going against Xande Silva, who’s been an impact player for Atlanta since arriving.

Jakob Glesnes: A-
Playing injured and still contributed to an outstanding first half. In the second half, the defensive unit certainly bent but didn’t break.

Jack Elliott: A-
Controlled Giogios Giakamoukis very well and kept him off the scoresheet. Lost some of the composure in the box on Atlanta’s second goal.

Nathan Harriel: B+
Playing on the left and handled the new position well. He was lucky not to have conceded a first-half penalty but withstood an incredible amount of pressure late from Edwin Mosquera and Derrick Ettiene Jr.

Jesus Bueno: NR

Jack McGlynn: B
His entry pass led to Carranza’s goal and he controlled the ball well in the first half, but he became overrun in the second half and lost his positioning.

Alejandro Bedoya: B
Another workmanlike performance from Bedoya. He was good on the attack down the right side with Mbaizo and created several good scoring chances. He was strong defensively until the second half when fresh legs made it harder to keep pace.

Daniel Gazdag: A
Looked more like himself going forward with space. Scored a beautiful goal to open and set up Carranza’s goal with a perfect combination.

Julian Carranza: B+
Set up two goals by looking to combine with his teammates. Made a great run and layoff to Uhre for the Union’s first and did the same to set up his own goal. His handball gave Atlanta the first penalty. It was unfortunate and a difficult position to react to, but he still needed to be better defending the box.

Mikael Uhre: A
Played more in front of the center backs, which gave the Union a better outlet going forward. Scored a nice goal on the counter and quickly set up a restart that led to Gazdag’s goal.

Subs:

Jose Martinez: B

He wasn’t supposed to play more than 30 minutes, but due to the injury to Bueno played much
more than expected. He controlled the middle for much of the first half. He did lose his mark on
the second Atlanta goal, which added to the chaos in the box.

Quinn Sullivan: B
Provided an offensive spark off the bench, creating a few chances to keep the Atlanta defense
honest. Could have used stronger hold up play when trying to kill off the game.

Damion Lowe: NR
Matt Real: NR
