The Philadelphia Union has signed midfielder Sanders Ngabo to a two-year contract beginning in 2024, the club announced Thursday. Nbago, a 19-year-old from Denmark, will take up an international spot. His contract includes club options for 2025 and 2026.

Ngabo joins the Union from the Danish Superliga, where he played for Lyngby Boldklub. At present, Ngabo’s boyhood club sits in seventh place in the Danish first division. Since his Lyngby debut more than two years ago, Ngabo played in 29 matches, scoring two goals and registering one assist.

Ngabo also has international experience, playing on Denmark’s U19 and U18 rosters. With the Danish youth national team, Ngabo has made four appearances with the U19 team and two with the U18 team. He recently earned his first call-up to the U20 team.

While the Union did not announce a transfer fee, Ngabo’s value on Transfermarkt is listed at €200 thousand (around $217,000).

Ngabo will be added to the Union’s roster following the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate and his P1 Visa.
