The Philadelphia Union released their 2024 league regular season schedules Tuesday, featuring 34 competitions across nine months. From schedule release day, the MLS regular season is set to start in 66 days.

The Union will play each team in the Eastern Conference twice and play five different Western Conference teams once. All games against Western Conference opponents will come in the first nine matches of the season. In fact, four of those games come in consecutive games.

The Union’s schedule runs from Saturday, February 24, to Saturday, October 19. From the team’s playoff elimination on November 25 to the start of the MLS season, the team will have 91 days of rest between MLS games. The club starts Concacaf Champions Cup play a few days earlier, on Tuesday, February 20.

The month gap in the middle of the Union’s schedule is set for Leagues Cup play. The tournament will kick off on Friday, July 26, and finish on Sunday, August 25.

The team will kick off action at home on Saturday, February 24, against the Chicago Fire. That game comes in the middle of the Union’s Champions Cup bouts against Saprissa on Tuesday, February 20, and Tuesday, February 27.

After the Chicago game, the Union will head to Kansas, where they will face Sporting Kansas City on Saturday, March 2. That game will be followed by a March 9 home game against Seattle before two road games in the next two weeks against Austin FC and the Portland Timbers on March 16 and 23, respectively.

Following Portland, Minnesota United comes to town on March 30 before the Union travels to face Nashville, playing in the Eastern Conference this year, on March 30, and Atlanta on April 6. A home match against Real Salt Lake on April 27 will follow.

One road match against D.C. United will come on May 4 before two home matches against Orlando and New York City on the next two Saturdays. The Union then has two road matches against the New England Revolution and Charlotte FC on May 18 and 25.

A three-game home stand comes after that Charlotte game, as the Union is set to face Toronto on Wednesday, May 29, for their first midweek MLS game, Montreal on Saturday, June 1, and Miami after a two weeks’ rest on Saturday, July 15.

The Union then face FC Cincinnati in a rematch of the Eastern Conference semifinal away on Wednesday, June 19, before coming back home for a Saturday, June 22, rematch with Charlotte.

Three of the Union’s next four games will then be on the road, as the club goes to Montreal on June 29, Chicago on Wednesday, July 3, and Toronto on July 13, with a home stop against the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, July 10, in between. A two-game home stand will follow, as the Union will face New England on Wednesday, July 17, Nashville on July 20. Those matches will be the last before Leagues Cup play.

After more than a month’s break from MLS action, the Union will return to Subaru Park on Saturday, August 24, to take on reigning MLS Cup Champions Columbus Crew SC. That match will be followed by three straight on the road against the Red Bulls on August 31, Inter Miami on September 14, and New York City on Wednesday, September 18.

The Union end their season with three of their final five games at home, facing D.C. and Atlanta at Subaru Park on Sunday, September 22, and Saturday, September 28. Road games against Orlando and Columbus will follow on Wednesday, October 2, and Saturday, October 5. The team finishes the season at home on Saturday, October 19, against Cincinnati in what may be a crucial game to determine playoff slots.

Last season, the Union slightly underperformed preseason expectations and finished No. 4 in a tight Eastern Conference race. The team’s 55 points were fewer than Cincinnati’s 69, Orlando’s 63, and Columbus’ 57. The Union finished above New England (55 points), Atlanta (51 points), Nashville (49 points), New York (43 points) and Charlotte (43 points) in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
