As player ratings go, last night’s Concacaf Champions Cup opener for the Philadelphia Union at Saprissa was a bit of a strange one.

It was a brutal first half with a terrible own goal that could’ve been worse if Saprissa had their shooting boots. After regrouping at halftime, the Union followed that “ludicrous display” with a second half where their attack looked unstoppable.

The Man of the Match is not even a little bit in question but there were a number of other notable second half performances from players that didn’t see enough of the ball in the first half: mainly Daniel Gazdag and Quinn Sullivan.
