The fourth goal of the weekend from Saul Iwowo and a second half strike by Ethan Jarden led Dickinson to a 2-0 win over Denison on a windy day in Carlisle and a return trip to the NCAA Division III men’s soccer Sweet 16.

The Red Devils, Centennial Conference champions, opened tournament play with a 5-0 win over North Carolina Wesleyan sparked by an Iwowo hat trick. They’ll visit No. 13 Lynchburg on Saturday with a chance to book a return trip to the Elite 8.

The Red Devils will be joined in the second week of the tournament by Rowan, 2-0 winners over Wesleyan after a 1-0 win over Bridgewater State to open tournament play. Johnny Troiano scored in both wins to increase his season total to 19 and career total to 55.

The Profs (17-3-4) have No. 6 Emory up next in their first Sweet 16 appearance since 2019.

Messiah (13-7-2) stretched their win streak to 10 with a 3-0 win over Calvin College on Saturday afternoon and booked a date with No. 1 Tufts in Massachusetts on Saturday. Patrick Lee had the eventual game winner in the 55th minute of that contest and Sam Phillips and Davis Padgett added goals. Calvin goalkeeper and Pilesgrove, N.J. native Zac Moore made five saves in his final collegiate game.

Scranton’s unforgettable season came to an end on Sunday with their first loss of the season to Wiliams and their first time conceding more than once in a game all season. Devon, Pa. native Charlie Smith played his last collegiate game, capping a season where the Royals conceded only four goals in 20 games.

In other men’s college soccer news, Millersville fell in the PSAC final to Gannon, which captured their first ever PSAC championship on Sunday. Penn came up short in the semifinal of the Ivy League Championship on Thursday to Cornell, which fell to Princeton on Sunday. Princeton won both the regular season and tournament championship for the Ivy League with the win over Cornell.
