Union Invite Harrisburg City Islanders Morgan Langley And Sainey Touray To Train With Team
The Philadelphia Union have invited Morgan Langley and Sainey Touray to train with the team this week, according to the Harrisburg City Islanders' Facebook page.
Touray featured heavily for Harrisburg City in 2011, playing in 21 games, scoring seven goals and assisting on six others in 1,161 minutes. The 21-year-old forward is a former Gambian under-17 and under-20 international was on-loan from the Carolina Railhawks after a previous spell with the New York Red Bulls and a trial in 2008 with Arsenal of the English Premier League. At 6’1″, Touray would bring some size to the Union’s offense, if signed.
Langley did not play much in the 20 games he entered for the Islanders, averaging about 18 minutes per appearance (361 minutes total) in 2011, but he still managed to score two goals as a midfielder.
Fellow Islanders player Andrew Welker, who played for the Union in reserve league games earlier in this season, is on trial with the Red Bulls.
The Islanders ended their season with a penalty kick loss to the Orlando City Lions in the United Soccer Leagues (USL) PRO final, allowing the team's players to sign with MLS clubs prior to the 2011 roster freeze.
