Mark McKenzie and Sergio Santos both received positive news on the injuries they picked up against the New York Red Bulls.

“Mark McKenzie it looks like will be fine even for this Sunday’s game against Columbus so no hamstring tear or anything there,” head coach Jim Curtin said Tuesday. “(He) just felt a little bit of tightness and the MRIs showed a little bit of just swelling around the muscle.”

Santos has a grade 1 hamstring strain, Curtin said.

“Those are usually a week and a half to two weeks and he’ll be back,” Curtin said.

With McKenzie out of the lineup for tomorrow night’s game, it looks like veteran Aurelien Collin may get the nod instead of Auston Trusty, who has been behind Collin in the depth chart since he was replaced in the game against DC United on August 4.

McKenzie has paired with Jack Elliott for the past four games, his first four starts of the season after Collin started three straight.

Curtin said he had a meeting with Trusty two weeks ago to talk about where he’s at in the depth chart and noted that he has responded well in training but still didn’t make the 18 against the Red Bulls.

“As of right now that order is the same,” Curtin said.

Wednesday’s game kicks off at 11 p.m. eastern time on the Live Well Network.
