Martínez had eight goals and seven assists in 30 appearances for Lommel during the 2022-2023 season in Belgium’s second division, the Challenger Pro League. He also has ample experience playing professionally in his native Costa Rica, where he made 65 appearances with LD Alajuelense and 53 with Guadalupe FC, scoring 30 goals and notching 18 assists.
Minnesota United and Kemar Lawrence part ways
Acquired from Toronto FC in April 2022, Lawrence took over for previous starter Chase Gasper and played 2,305 MLS minutes over 27 matches a year ago. This season, the 30-year-old played 1,116 MLS minutes over 14 appearances, 13 starts.
Toronto FC sign towering German forward Prince Owusu
The 26-year-old marksman showcased his scoring abilities last season in the German second division, netting 10 goals in 34 appearances for SSV Jahn Regensburg, where he played in the same team as Canada international Scott Kennedy.
