Seven area teams will be in Oceanside, California this weekend seeking passage to the US Youth Soccer National Championships via the National League P.R.O. playoffs.

Four boys and three girls teams from Eastern Pennsylvania are participating in the event. Three teams from the area – Sporting PA 2009 boys and both the 2009 and 2010 boys teams from Yardley Makefield Soccer – booked spots in the National Championships at a National League P.R.O. playoff event in Orlando back in February.

A total of 26 teams from the region – Eastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey – advanced to the National League P.R.O. playoffs.

The playoffs are broken into three brackets. First day winners in the Champions bracket will automatically advance to nationals while losers will drop to the wildcard bracket. Only one team from each of the Silver and Wildcard brackets will advance to nationals.
