Philadelphia Union II picked up m three points on Sunday night with a dominant 3-0 win over Crown Legacy FC at Subaru Park. The victory marked a significant step forward in the team’s season, pushing them into fourth place in the MLS Next Pro Eastern Conference standings with 21 points.

The first half was a tightly contested battle, with both sides showing flashes of attacking intent but ultimately struggling to find the finishing touch. Crown Legacy maintained solid defensive organization, while Union II worked to build rhythm in possession. Midfielder CJ Olney and forward Sal Olivas created a few promising chances, but the breakthrough remained elusive through 45 minutes.

After the break, Union II emerged with renewed energy and determination. Their patience paid off in the 75th minute when a well-driven cross into the box created confusion in the Crown Legacy defense. In an attempt to clear the danger, a Crown Legacy defender inadvertently deflected the ball into his own net, handing Union II a 1-0 lead.

The floodgates opened from there. Just two minutes later, forward Stas Korzeniowski doubled the lead. The Penn grad broke free behind the backline and calmly slotted his shot past the keeper, capitalizing on a moment of defensive disarray.

Union II continued to press, and in the closing stages, midfielder David Vazquez added a third. After some intricate buildup play in midfield, Vazquez found himself in space at the top of the box and ripped a strike into the bottom corner, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

While the attack stole the headlines, Sunday night also marked a major milestone for Union II’s newest shot-stopper. Goalkeeper Pierce Holbrook made his professional debut between the posts. His efforts were rewarded with a clean sheet, marking his first shutout at the pro level.

Union II will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next challenge, a road matchup in Columbus on Saturday that could further shake up the standings in a tightly packed Eastern Conference race.
