Help Save A Life With A Swab Of The Cheek With DKMS

Published

on

At tomorrow’s Philadelphia Union game against Chivas USA, Union fans will have the opportunity to save a life.

DKMS will have volunteers at PPL Park, in Toyota Plaza, from 5-8 pm swabbing anyone who chooses to have him or herself be made available for a possible bone marrow transplant. If a match is found through the process then young Jonah Gomez will have a fighting chance to beat his Leukemia.

Gomez’s family is featured on an episode of Extreme Home Makeover, which will give the youngster a soccer oriented abode based on what Ty Pennington has said about the new house. MLS is helping to push for fans to get tested to see if they’re matches for Jonah because Gomez is a Real Salt Lake fan. His appearance on EHM includes Gomez being seen in a RSL jersey.

To help out beyond being swabbed, email DKMS at kelly@dkmsamericas.org for volunteer opportunities.
