After helping West Chester United add to its collection of trophies in 2025, Dylan Lacy started off the new year with a hat trick in a 7-1 win over Christos FC in the Fourth Annual Roger Tucker Memorial Pro Combine on Saturday at Kildare’s Field.

The performance, which included a pair of assists for the 20-year-old from Wayne, highlighted a strong offensive display for a West Chester team coming off multiple league championships and a National Amateur Cup trophy in 2025. It may also be Lacy’s last match with the team as he heads off to professional trials in search of a contract.

The former Philadelphia Union Academy, FC Dallas Academy and North Texas SC midfielder joined West Chester a year ago after a tough year battling injuries with a North Texas SC side that won the MLS Next Pro title in 2024.

“He probably played 60 matches in 12 months with us and played a ton of minutes,” West Chester United head coach Blaise Santangelo said. “And he’s really grown up as a player. He’s mature, he takes the game seriously and keeps our older guys young. We have a lot of fun with him in training, and he just brings it to the next level. I’m really expecting not to see him again.”

Lacy went to work early against a young Christos FC side, feeding a pass to Luke Pompliano who had a lovely strike from distance to open the scoring. He found his first goal with a poked shot off the post and in after Funsia Donzo collected an outlet throw from goalkeeper Alex Geczy and played him in with a diagonal ball. He combined with Pompliano for his second just after halftime, dished an assist on Jack McDaid’s goal in the 80th minute and tacked on an unassisted goal in the 84th minute to complete the hat trick.

“First game of the year so it’s always exciting to be back on the pitch, especially with all my teammates,” Lacy said. “They’re all my brothers so it’s really fun, and it’s a high level scrimmage so it’s a great opportunity.”

Lacy’s time with West Chester United was filled with success but also personal growth.

“We won a lot of trophies, so that’s always great, but also it was a great learning moment for myself,” Lacy said. “I got a lot of reps. We played two games a week, sometimes even three. I feel very sharp, and I just like to thank Blaise (Santangelo) and all my teammates around me for helping me get to where I am today.”
