Philly Soccer 6 award winners honored

Philadelphia Union II forward Stas Korzeniowski and fellow first-year pros Leo Burney and Kemali Green were among the honorees for the men’s Philly Soccer 6 awards for the 2024 fall season.

Burney, a Penn standout who now plays for Seattle Sounders’ MLS Next Pro team Tacoma Defiance, was named the Chris Jones Player of the Year while Villanova defender Luke Haggerty was named Bill Wilkinson Rookie of the Year, Penn head coach Brian Gill was named the Bill Harris Coach of the Year and Drexel midfielder Patrick Short (Georgetown, Del.) was named the John McAdams Academic Player of the Year.

Green (Philadelphia, Pa.), a Temple defender in his rookie season with Portland Hearts of Pines in USL League One, was named to the All-Star Team.
