Philadelphia Union forward Markus Anderson is returning home for Brooklyn FC’s inaugural season in the USL Championship.

The Brooklyn-born forward has been loaned to Brooklyn FC for the 2026 season. He made three appearances and one start for the Union in 2025, scoring a memorable game-winning goal against Charlotte FC last June. He made 16 starts and 21 appearances for Union II, scoring six goals and registering three assists.

Former Union II head coach Marlon LeBlanc is leading the USL Championship club in their first season. Former Union II striker Stefan Stojanovic is also on the inaugural roster along with Philadelphia Union Academy grad Lukas Burns.

Brooklyn FC is scheduled to open their season on March 8 but the threat of a potential strike could derail that.
